With wedding season in the midst, early spring and summer seem to be the hot months for bridal showers. Last month we hosted a fabulous themed bridal shower for our bride Courtney. Courtney absolutely loves the movie “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” so it was the natural choice for her bridal shower theme.
Today on the blog we are going to share some of the cute games that we played at her shower. Feel free to take these ideas and make them your own!
Choose a word that is forbidden to say, and whoever succeeds the longest without saying the word wins a prize. For example, try to avoid saying the word “wedding” at a bridal shower. Everyone is given a token of some kind like fake wedding ring, and if someone catches you saying the forbidden word, they can take away your token. For Courtney’s shower we used fake pearl necklaces since the main character in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” often wore a pear necklace in the film.
Give your guests a list of memorable and fairly recognizable romantic quotes from popular films. Have them write down the movie that they think the quote comes from. Whoever guesses the most correctly wins the game.
Toilet paper wedding dresses are always an entertaining and amusing interactive game. Have your guests pair up or form teams, depending on the size of your group, and have them create a fashionable wedding dress made out of toilet paper. Put a time limit on the activity, and when the time is up, the bride has to choose the winner.
See how well the bride and groom actually know each other. Before the bridal shower, ask the groom a list of questions about himself and the bride. Then ask the bride to answer the questions out loud and see if they correctly match up to the answers that the groom provided. There is not necessarily a winner of this game, it is more of a fun “test” to give the bride 🙂
