Who can honestly say that they met on myspace?! Carrie and Matt did! After a few casual hangouts they decided that the timing wasn’t right. But 7 years later, they reconnected and the rest is history!
Flowers and food were Carrie’s most exciting parts of the planning process! She loved all the little details, from designing the table and seat numbers, to dreaming up the chandeliers, from the stamps on the wedding invites to the candle votives, no detail was overlooked. During Carrie and Matt’s wedding venue search, they were really looking for that non-banquet hall type of venue. The minute she walked into Gallery 1028, she just knew it was their place. She love the simplicity, yet all the charismatic and unique details it had to offer. They were going for a rustic, soft, whimsical look (think a Mumford and Sons video!).
They loved the intricate wood, skylights, wood bar, and large cocktail room. The “raw-blank” space gave them the opportunity to create their vision with decor. Carrie is a “less is more” kind of girl, so she knew she wanted soft colors, lots of neutrals, and candle light. They wanted their wedding to be very whimsical, vintage, romantic, rustic, and soft. She’s always loved chandeliers and candles, and she knew she wanted her wedding to be filled with them.
The florals were very soft neutrals with pops of color and all of the tables had clusters of vintage amber vases with ivory candles (borrowed from a friend who used them at her wedding), gold chandeliers in the cocktail area and reception room, and candles lined around the brick wall. Her dad provided the wine bottles, and her father in law wrote the numbers on the labels. She used a “Carrie and Matt” banner that her Aunt made for her bridal shower. Personal touches like that were very important to them. One of her favorite details was the escort cards on twine with clothespins, and the chalkboards scattered throughout the venue.
It was a beautiful wedding and had the sweetest couple to go along with it!
